Wisdom teeth
Quick, easy and pain-free extractions
Savings with I love my dentist up to 75% compared to US prices.Wisdom teeth are the last molars located on each side of the jaws. They are the last teeth to appear, generally, when the person is between 16 and 25 years old.
As they are the last to erupt, frequently, the mouth does not have enough free space to accommodate them. If a wisdom tooth doesn't have room to grow (impacted wisdom tooth), it can result in pain and a variety of dental problems, such as:
- Tooth decay.
- Damage to a nearby tooth or surrounding bone.
- Development of a cyst around the tooth.
- Infection or gum disease (periodontal disease).
- Complications with orthodontic treatments.
If any of these problems are present, you will likely need a surgical procedure to remove one or more wisdom teeth.
A single tooth extraction should take no longer than 30 minutes but this may vary depending on your particular conditions.
Anesthesia
Local anesthesia will be administered near the site of the extraction. Before you receive the injection, our specialist will apply a substance to your gums to numb them. You will be awake during the procedure and you shouldn’t experience any pain, although you may feel some pressure and movement during the procedure. You can go home soon after the procedure ends, but we recommend a family member or friend accompany you.Costs

- Avoid any heavy exercise.
- Avoid hot, carbonated or alcoholic drinks for at least 48 hours.

2What should I eat or drink after the surgery?
For info on what foods to eat after your surgery, visit our blog post
“Foods to eat after a wisdom tooth extraction”.
3Will I bleed or be in pain after the surgery?
Some oozing of blood may occur the first day after the removal; try to avoid excessive spitting so that you don't dislodge the blood clot from the socket. To reduce this symptom it's also recommended to use an ice pack. Any swelling of your cheeks usually improves in two or three days, even though bruising may take several more days to resolve. Any pain should be managed with over-the-counter painkillers.
