5 tips for a long lasting bright smile

Are you searching for the holy grail of answers to have a long-lasting bright smile? Well, you have come to the right place.

At I love my dentist, we took the time to sit down with our dentists to find out what are the most common Q&A for a bright smile, and we came up with the following 5 tips for all dental patients who are exploring the best ways to maintain their oral health.

1- Go to the dentist!

If you are interested in having a bright smile, you need to go to the dentist.

We know that going to the dentist can be stressful, but it is a MUST to visit one at least every 6 months until instructed otherwise.

Nevertheless, one of our doctors said, quote: ‘when going to the dentist, you need a strategy going in.

Why? First, you need to know that if you are in pain or discomfort, an emergency appointment could be what you are looking for, and most of the time, you would need to have a procedure done.

But, by visiting a dentist for a comprehensive evaluation, you are preventing any future dental problems, which means more money in your pocket.

2- Improve your dental habits ASAP!

There is no question, having good oral hygiene is extremely important.

For this reason, our dentists recommend a great brushing technique for your teeth. While we know that every mouth is different, the American Dental Association (ADA) recommends brushing twice a day, for at least 2 minutes each time.

Furthermore, they also recommend having an oral hygiene kit —such as mouthwash, floss, and in some cases, toothpicks—. Cleaning between your teeth may help prevent cavities and gum disease

In other words, wanting to improve your hygiene habits is a MUST on this list, but having the correct tools is equally important. Do not forget to ask your dentist what else you can do to improve your smile.

3- Avoid these drinking and social lifestyles.

Let us rethink your drink first.

Having sugary and colored drinks is a big no-no for teeth, especially when talking about cola soft drinks, red wine, and high acid juices.

Similarly, smoking is also a big NO when wanting better oral hygiene. The ADA has clearly announced, tobacco is directly responsible for stained teeth and tongue, gum disease, and not to mention oral cancer.

Our doctors are very strict on this matter. Avoiding these bad habits can help your oral hygiene long-term, in addition to having a better lifestyle.

4- Need a treatment done? Do it!

So, you already came to I love my dentist, and we gave you a comprehensive evaluation? Great! You are one step closer to having a bright smile.

We don’t want to argue with some patients’ pockets, but if you need treatment done, do it.

Relieving pain temporarily can only cause more problems further down the road. So, our doctors highly recommended following your treatment plan to the word.

Don’t fake it, make it.

5- Do not miss your dentist appointment, again.

Like every habit, we know it is hard. But going to the dentist is a habit that you do not want to miss out on.

You already started going to the dentist, you just need to maintain your treatment plan and have great communication with your specialist, believe me, you will love the results.

We can not emphasize enough, having a better-looking bright smile starts with you, do not miss out on it.
