Dental implants are replacement tooth roots that provide a strong foundation for fixed or removable teeth made to match your natural ones.
Implants are “screws” bonded to the maxillary or jawbone. These have a small connector post on top called “abutment”, which holds the implant and the crown perfectly together. For this treatment to be successful, patients must have healthy gums and enough bone to support the implant. Depending on the conditions of the patient, bone graft or a sinus lift may be needed.
In general, dental implants have a success rate of up to 98%, and with proper care, they can last a lifetime.
Once the implant is placed and your mouth has healed from the procedure (approximately 3 months), the specialist will take impressions of your teeth to create your crown models. These will be sent to a certified laboratory for custom fabrication, matching the size, color, and shape of your natural teeth.
In most cases, patients need 3 visits in a time frame of less than a year to complete this procedure, but depending on the particular conditions it may take up to 6 visits.
Sometimes, instead of individual crowns, patients may have complete dentures placed on the implants; this would be a more complex treatment, commonly known as All on 4 (Click here for more info on All on 4 procedure).

- Depending on the patient condition, in some cases this procedure may take over a year to be completed, so it’s not likely recommended as an immediate solution.

- Tender gums and difficulty eating may be present during the healing process.

1 How can I know I’m a candidate implants?
Our specialists always recommend having a first full evaluation with a CT SCAN. If you already have your results, you can bring them in person or send them via e-mail. If you do not have them, we can recommend a specialized x-ray facility.

2Can you remove my current implant that went bad?
Yes, this may be needed if you have a deep infection, if you present loss of bone structure or the position of the implant is not proper for restoration.
3Do you offer warranty?
Yes, if we perform the whole treatment from start to finish, including the extractions, we offer 5 year warranty.
4What materials do you use for implants?
Titanium Grade IV and Rocksolid (Titanium Grade IV and Zirconia).
5Do you offer sedation during the implant placement?
In most cases we do not recommend sedation, only when the patient presents more complex conditions.
6Can I have my extractions somewhere else and do my implants with you?
We recommend our specialists perform the entire procedure. Our board certified dentist execute atraumatic extractions to preserve the bone structure; but it can be evaluated in a case by case basis.
7Would I need healing time between the extraction and the implant?
It depends on each case. If there is no infection or other pathologies, we may place the implant immediately after the extraction.
8If I need a sinus lift before my implants, can we do it at your office?
Yes, we have a highly qualified team of specialists that can perform this procedure.
9Which payment method is available at your office?
Visa, Mastercard, PayPal (5% commission), Venmo and Zelle.
10Is the total payment done at once?
At least 70% of your total payment must be made at the beginning of your procedure, and the rest may be distributed on your next visits.
11Do you offer financing?
We do not offer financing at this time.

1Do I need a relative to come with me on the first trip?
We recommend our patients to come with companionship. If this is not possible our office will take care of it.
2What documentation do I need to bring with me for my first consultation?
Your ID card or Driver´s license.
3Can you assist me with transportation and hotel reservations?
You will be picked up from San Diego Airport by our driver, or we can send an Uber to pick you up at the International border. Additionally, our staff can make reservations for you.
4Can I cross to Mexico with my ID only?
Yes, American Citizens are allowed to cross bringing only their ID. If you are a permanent resident, you will need your Green Card. If you have a different nationality, your passport and legal documentation will be required.

5How much cash will Customs allow me to cross to Mexico?
If you bring more than $10.000 USD, this figure must be declared at the Customs office.
